North Ridgeville Rotary - Fund Raisers

North Ridgeville, OH — Nov. 11, 2009: The Rotary Club of North Ridgeville is pleased to present its 2010 limited edition calendar. Priced at $14.95, all proceeds from the calendar will benefit the North Ridgeville community in a variety of service projects, including Thanksgiving food donations to the city's Community Care Center; upkeep of the community's Safetyville learning facility; the annual North Ridgeville Easter Egg Hunt; and the annual Fishing Derby, which pairs special needs children with Rotary members for a day of food, fishing and friendship.

The calendar project was recently completed thanks to photographer Mark Madere of SpectraLight Photography. Madere volunteered his time to take all the photos for the calendar and several members of the club served as models.

According to club President Shawn Mueller (who also posed for the calendar), the goal, aside from raising funds for service projects, is to give a glimpse into what Rotary means to members. Each photo aims to depict the Rotarian's profession. The sometimes tongue-in-cheek approach proves to be a witty commentary on what Rotary is – an organization that puts Service Above Self.

As an added bonus, the calendar also highlights the members' companies.

Indeed, club secretary Kathy LeRoy, Realtor, Russell Real Estate Services, LeRoy Real Estate LLC, was photographed in front of the Terminal Tower in Downtown Cleveland. In the picture with her is one of her For Sale signs complete with her contact information.

"This was a fun project that will help get Rotary's message out to people who may not know what Rotary does," says LeRoy. "Being a part of a club that has so many diverse members all working together to make the community – and the world -- a better place to live is awesome. I'm pleased to be affiliated with the calendar and Rotary International."
